Mommy Leaving Home Poem by Ray Hansell

Mommy Leaving Home

Remember you're the one
Who said you had to leave
Now I'm left here all alone
With my broken heart to grieve

You said you had to go out
To find what you've been missing
I pleaded with you to stay
But you just wouldn't listen

I really hope you found
What you were looking for
Remember what you threw away
When you walked out the door

I hope happiness finds you
Or, you find happiness
Just remember what you left behind
I know one day you'll miss

The kids always ask about you
They wonder where you are
Remember, they'll be the one's
To always have a scar
