Monalisa's Gift Poem by David Fanougbo

Monalisa's Gift

In the streets of Cotonou, dreams Were built beyond the raiding Dormant lights, by the shoulders
Of each beauty, in the eyes of dashing colours.
It goes beyond the flashy cars and Bikes roaming the streets as mortals Of hope and life.
She breeds a train of alluring angels,
Dazzling and plaguing
Each passers-by, a remembrance of monalisa's gift.
In the streets of Cotonou, there my
First love was, an angel or perhaps a Mermaid for her beauty blinds the Sight of a blind and steals the breath
Of a dumb, her fregrance swept me Off balance and there I was, falling
Solemnly.
Though the skies streams pale,
Her eyes illume's the pathways to Heaven, see too, does her steps
Blushes the shrubs of a moribund
Rose or be thy fantasizing?
Or be thy a liar if I say, off the Perfection of her waist birthed Timi's Melodies?
Let it be known that be not an Exception, her fronts, the porter's Pride.
