Monsoon Of Her Eyes Poem by Sethulakshmi Menon

Monsoon Of Her Eyes

In the hush of twilight,
A monsoon unfurls from her storm-cloud eyes,
A rain that drowns the sun in sullen skies.
A storm of grief that knows no bounds.
Her life; a shattered, broken dream.

The winds of grief bend her like willow trees.
Each gust of wind on its leaves is the memories' blow.

Clouds of despair hang heavy and low,
Darkened by the weight of all she's lost,
Her heart; the sky is forever star-crossed.

This rain is endless, a relentless tide,
Drenching the soil where her hopes once grew,
But those seeds of joy withered and died,
Leaving her soul barren, devoid of hue.

Lightning flashes, but no light remains,
Only the echoes of the silent wails;
the chains,
Binding her to a past that won't die.

No rainbow follows this endless rain,
No sun to dry her tear-drenched soul
In the monsoon of her tears, only pain,
For she is cursed, and her spirit is bled out.

She wanders lost, through the flood's cruel sway,
A soul adrift in sorrow's sea,
Which sees no shore,
No dreams to chase, no light to lead,
Just the monsoon of her tears, eternally.
