Moonlight Poem by Deepak Calyampoondi

Moonlight

The blanket of motherly warmth is spread,
Greets the world to somnolence,
With the glittering streak of wisdom,
A Poet in everyone is born.

The white mist over the velvet sky,
Grant that secret wish that most desire,
That escaping plunge, a relief from reality,
and yet remains an unsolved mystery.

The stillness of the world by night,
Awaits that luminous smile,
And that final kiss before it fades,
Into the light which begins the morn.

I Yearn for the moonlight which comes from within,
It's warmth emanating from the heart,
With compassion for others,
Taking the form of -love, passion, affection...,
Which seek to throw light in their lonely no moon nights.

“How sweet the moonlight sleeps upon this bank. Here will we sit, and let the sounds of music Creep in our ears; soft stillness, and the night Become the touches of sweet harmony.”.... William Shakespeare quotes this one is my favorite and now yours too so thanks for adding...... love, payal
