Moonlight Over Golden Grains
1. The air is cool, the night is still,
The world around me quiet, until
The frogs begin their evening song,
While crickets hum the night along.
2. A hut on bamboo, humble, bare,
A bed of hay with mat laid there,
The thatched roof hums an ancient tune,
Braided coconut leaves beneath the moon.
3. I lie awake beneath the sky,
Where stars are bright but softly shy,
The moonlight spills on golden grains,
A sea of harvest, free of pains.
4. I guard the bundles, neat and high,
Their weight a promise, standing by,
The paddy sways, a golden sea,
Bathed in light that comforts me.
5. The wind stirs gently through the leaves,
While I, alone, my vigil keep,
The harvest rests in peace tonight,
Bathed in the soft, eternal light.
6. Beneath the soft embrace of night,
I rest where moonlight paints in light,
The golden grains of paddy sway,
As harvest whispers softly play.
7. From far away, a song is heard,
A folk tune, slow, a gentle word,
The voice of a farmhand in the dark,
Melodies that leave a silent mark.
8. Frogs croon softly, cicadas sing,
Their chorus hums through everything.
In the stillness, I feel their might,
Their song a rhythm to the night.
9. The coconut trees, a distant dream,
Small bush-like shadows in moonbeam.
The paddy field rolls far and wide,
A sea of gold with no divide.
10. And far beyond, across the land,
A rare boat drifts with quiet hand,
The night fishermen, they glide in tune,
Their paddles kissed by silver moon.
11. Alone, yet cradled by the sound,
I lie in peace where silence's found,
In the heart of fields, vast and deep,
Where stars above and earth below meet.
12. The night is mine, the harvest near,
A simple world that holds me here.
In moonlit gold and song's refrain,
I sleep beneath the sky's soft reign.
