Moonlight Sonata Poem by Alfred Ramos

Moonlight Sonata

Like a piece of pumpkin pie in the sky
A scene enough to make one cry
The crescent moon slid past
Our eyes searched for something that would last

Thoughts floated on the misty ocean floor
As the waves quietly stroked the shore
Gentle moonbeams glittered in the sand
Momentarily distracting what was at hand

The horizon in its fiery hue
Slowly melted into the ocean azure blue
Leaving a glimmering sheen
A perfect opening for an upcoming dream

With the rhythm of our heartbeat
A sound of welcomed repeat
Serving as collateral for what was yet to come
The tinkling sensation of another kiss well done

With the ebb tide waning
Moments like this belong in a painting
Hanging over a winter fire
Stoking up embers of desire

And when the last star disappears
And the edge of darkness clears
Foamy waves hug the shore
You will still be in my arms evermore
