I do not write
For the quick swallow of fast-food gobblers
Momentary in a flash of panned bespoiled Earth
The beauty of each golden nugget tarnished
In the ware of dollars and red cents
I write for the ages
For the dreamers who come and go
Before and after
Those who see in a mist of shadows
Great forms taking shape
The progeny of our hope
Borne on tides of
Breaking human endeavor
The sand holding secrets of the
Quiet sinking wave.
