Morbid Sanctuary (Recommended) Poem by Ridah Ellahi

Morbid Sanctuary (Recommended)

I looked in the mirror,
And saw my soul fading away,
Right before my eyes.
I saw myself breaking,
Breaking down into a million pieces.
Crossing the barriers,
Becoming…nothing.
The stillness of the hour,
Defines my life,
In my morbid sanctuary.
The walls are tainted,
With my blood.
The agony grows,
Marking its existence with scars.
But my heart feels at rest here,
In my morbid sanctuary.
I breathe the pain,
I disappear in the darkness.
Don’t want the light to touch me.
Don’t want to prolong my existence.
I shall soon meet my end,
In my morbid sanctuary.
The clouds shed the many tears,
That I try to hold back.
The walls scream in anguish,
Whose presence is buried in me.
My mind has become accustomed.
My heart dwelling within.
In my morbid sanctuary.
Here, I don’t need to hide.
I can feel alive.
I don’t need to run,
Away from the lies.
For life is a short journey.
I started alone,
And in the end,
My only companion is me.
I now find peace,
And finally breathe my last,
In my morbid sanctuary…
