More Than A Conqueror Poem by Dominic Ewa

More Than A Conqueror

I was once in love which turned to hatred and now I am joyfully in love
I'd demonstrated faith, felt fear and still move mountains
I was free one day, in prison the next and back to freedom
I was rich a season, penniless the next and return to wealth and abundance
In spite of all these contrasts, I am more than a conqueror.

I was healthy, then diseased and now back into perfect health
I once own houses, lost all and was made homeless before gaining all back and more
I was honourable, then disgraced and then restored back with honour
I was flying high; got knocked down and now flying even higher
It is the contrast in life that brings the best out of me.

My life's perfect, eventful and never boring
I use each setback as opportunity to magnificently rebuild
One thing life has thought me is that I can never be defeated
So I can confidently say that I am more than a conqueror.
