Moreno Glacier Poem by William He

Moreno Glacier

Tune: Watching the Tidal Bore
Moreno Glacier
By William He

Against the glittering loch,
And the sky of azure blue,
Moreno appears with its multiform ray.
Crystalline veils adorn the cliffs,
The mysterious lake of emerald hue,
Through meadows of gleaming frost.
An ice corridor shifts and moans.
With an abrupt, roaring explosion,
Calved segments plummet down.
Where the ice-floes bellowing run,
The waves and splashes follow every birth.

Their striking glistening whites.
The exotic pinnacles live and speak,
More than humankind can learn.
From the yawning chasm,
I can see the vision of the cold ghost,
Argentavis and Flamingo keep their tryst.
The enamel visage is serene as well.
The mirror with rippling and sparkling,
With native ancient myth.
In the world of mortals coming from,
Who knows the glacier's soul.
