Morning Poem by Herbert Hagell

Morning

Rating: 4.0

The stars linger in the sky
Indigo, purple hues all
Dark recesses visible now
Hidden Deep within the night.

Glide over a mirror surface
Reflections of the Universe
Dance before my eager eyes
Matched by nature's display.

Air caresses my yearning flesh
Cool dampness clings
Freshness of a promised beginning
Breath of life encourages hope.

Quiet enhances and sharpens thought
Solitude's energizing gift
Broken by the first calling
Still, eerily peaceful.
