Morning Poem by madeleine reed

Morning

Rating: 5.0

waking to the sun
its hues of gold
gently brush against my feet
its long rays
enveloping me into a hug
it wills me to get up
to stand

I rise
the earth below me hums
with the calming song of the grass
as the wind brushes against it
I feel its energy
it empowers me
moves me
I feel free
new
refreshed

it is a new day
I begin to walk
towards the rays of gold
the moon is behind me
