Morphine Poem by Mackenzie Scholte

Morphine

Rating: 5.0

She can't move, for the pain
Crawls through her body,
Lives in her mind
Morphine drip...
She is incoherent
Doesn't know she's alive
Morphine drip...
Drip...
Nothing about who she was
Her Family
Drip...
Drip...
She'll be lucky for another month
Morphine drip,
Drip...
She is overwhelmed
There is nothing left
Drip...
Just a shell
Drip...
Of a life once lived
Drip...
Of pain and morphine
Drip.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

You vividly put me beside a woman's hospital bed and showed me the horror of her pain. Thank you for posting this poem, L&T
