Motherhood Poem by Babajide Aina

Motherhood

In my mood and meditation l look on to my world
I search the mystery
And l see in the mystery
How weak are they?
Baby for 9 months
Labor in the love of the man
Defending territory for the seeds
In love, out of love they are fighters
Winning both the battle of failure and for success
How many times have they forgiven the so called, the strong
But in their mistake and our mistakes they call them names, still defending the odd
I don't desire their assignment
I envy their strength
Before l could drive, l thought the man is stronger
Forgive my foolishness and for all of us
Now l see how you condemn yourself to me, to us, for our visions to fulfil
Your broken heart you neglect
For our destiny to speak
I cannot imagine me, not to be humble
Forgive us, now l am sure
Your labor define us, made us
As we appreciate your pain and can we reward...?
