Mountain Stream Poem by Tammie Trail

Mountain Stream

Cascades of cool, refreshing water
Wash across the barricading tensions
That fills my mind,
Taking with it the anxieties and fears
Of what lies ahead
And pushing me forward
Never to return to the past.
And those persistent living memories
Are thrown upon the shores
To lay peacefully basting in the sun
And suffer a painless death.
When storms of fury
Send me rushing faster to my destination
There will be no time to cling
To branches of the past
And no time to mourn
Rocky occurances of the present
But time only to look ahead
To the peaceful serenity
Of the vast sea of opportunity
Before me.
