had a voice
He had to sing
With the full force of his youth
Not caring what anyone else
Thought, like it or not
Cost him plenty, of course
In the political swirl
of the age
He was after all
An artist
Ignored at the end
Rudely tossed out of the glittering court
Into the shallow confines of an
unmarked grave
A shovelful of lyme to
Cover the stench of poverty.
