Mum Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Mum

i hear her voice in the distance
i run into her arms
grief overwhelms in dream instance
the storm recedes and calms

i call out her name
hold her with all my love
the sorrow and the pain
gush forth to heavens above

and as i write these words
tears stream down my face
memories lost as time moves forwards
yet infinity in this embrace

the sadness since she's been gone
i try to hide, contain
but in this moment mother and son
are reunited once again
