Mumbo Jumbo Poem by Pearl Walden

Mumbo Jumbo

Just imagine if homeopathy worked:
We would all be fit as fiddles,
Full of beans and ready to go
No recycling, drinking piddle.

Think about naturopaths:
Preaching vital energy,
If it worked we'd all be buzzing,
Like a long life battery.
.
Let's not leave out Chinese medicine:
Numbers, stars and and needle pricks
Inspire confidence in the masses
Wanting Dr Mao's quick fix.

Are you seated comfortably?
Ayurveda’s full of heavy stuff,
Lead and mercury, arsenic too
Is that poisonous enough?

Clairvoyants need their ectoplasm,
Quacks all have to have their props
Like Chakra lines, electromagnets,
Throw in pseudoscience, lots.

No panacea yet exists
That cures all without causing harm,
Beware distracting blurb and patter
It’s just wallet-emptying charm.
