After the sun set there is darkness
Darkness absolute and intense under the starry limine,
Time for concealing the disgraces under the carpet
And letting the big cats out to prowl upon the chaste,
Time for apportioning the lazy hours from a day
Like the silks pulled from the nuts for drying in dews
And parading the worms to test our fortitudes,
Heart upon the hearts in highest magnitude
To plough the rustic beds with nails sharp edge
From the shoulder bare to the spine bent.
