My Advice To You Poem by June FeirCruz

My Advice To You

Listen to your heart, is what I want to say to you
Suffer the consequences of the decision you have made
You lost the love of your life perhaps
But you have the last laugh, the last stance, that last word.

You loved me like I have never been loved before
You put me on a pedestal so high, my nose bled.
But you also tortured me with the expertise of a serial killer
That dying would have been my only recourse.

How is this going to end?
Are you going to tell me and show me I am wrong?
Would you feel compassion for me?
Because once, you truly loved me.
