My Birthday Month Poem by Genice Lorraine De Fabriciano

My Birthday Month

My Birthday Month

My Birthday is still going strong
still singing the same ole' birthday song
and my created version
from Whitney Houston's
(God rest her soul)
'I Will Always Love You'
with a twisted sensation of soul
then there's the legendary,
Marilyn Monroe
(also gone to early for her day)
in which I do the Marilyn
a more sultry version
with full blowing of kisses
either way, every day
is still My Day
to remind me I am special
Thank You God and
all my friends to family
for always playing
along with me
California Birthday Girl...that's Me!
Oh, but my birthday month
is almost, but not yet over
for the twelfth to the twelfth
is a month to be exact
so I still have time
keeping party favors in tact
for friends who bring coffee
for our scheduled yearly pact
because failing to plan
is a plan to fail
some say, in fact
and we all know that
as the years fly by
we depend on my Birthday
To Always Come Back!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Happy Birthday to Me!
-the song, 'Happy Birthday to You', more commonly known as simply 'Happy Birthday', is a song that is traditionally sung to celebrate the anniversary of a person's birth. According to the 1998 Guinness World Records, 'Happy Birthday to You' is the most recognized song in the English language, followed by 'For He's a Jolly Good Fellow'. The song's base lyrics have been translated into at least 18 languages. The melody of 'Happy Birthday to You' comes from the song 'Good Morning to All', which has traditionally been attributed to American sisters Patty and Mildred J. Hill in 1893, although the claim that the sisters composed the tune is disputed. from-Wikipedia online
