My Black Cat Poem by Paul Williams

My Black Cat

Rating: 4.0

Lost again
We walk among the dead
Scattering the truth
My black cat has lost one eye
and there's only seven days to go
cancer grows all around me
I have read the books
and watched the swallows leave
I settle for coffee and cigarettes
and listen to the distant bells
my room is a mess
absent of all help
I chased the things that
bothered me around my head
but still i did not find you
it has been raining for some time now
but still I'm sitting in my shorts
burning up inside
it's a beautiful life

I enjoyed this poem a lot. I thought the way you described all these negative things and saw the beauty of it all.
