My California Dream
I see it before I've ever been there—
a California morning painted gold,
sunlight pouring over quiet streets,
palm trees whispering in the warm breeze,
and the Pacific stretching endlessly
beneath a sky so blue it almost hurts to look at.
I imagine opening my window
and breathing in the ocean air,
hearing waves crash somewhere beyond the houses,
feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin
as if the whole world is telling me,
You finally made it.
I want long drives with the windows down,
music filling the car,
mountains rising in the distance,
and the road disappearing
into another beautiful possibility.
I want evenings painted orange and pink,
watching the sun sink slowly into the ocean,
sand between my toes,
a cool breeze in my hair,
and that quiet moment when everything turns golden
and I realize—
this is the life I dreamed about.
I imagine little cafés in the morning,
coffee warming my hands,
people rushing toward their dreams,
while I take my time
and let the California sunlight find me.
At night, I see city lights sparkling like stars,
a million windows glowing against the darkness,
and somewhere beneath that endless sky,
I'm walking home with a peaceful heart,
knowing I'm exactly where I wanted to be.
Maybe California isn't just a place in my dreams.
Maybe it's the feeling of freedom
I've been searching for.
Maybe it's the ocean calling me forward,
the sunset reminding me to keep going,
the road telling me there is always
somewhere beautiful ahead.
And someday,
when my feet finally touch that California sand,
I'll look at the Pacific, smile, and whisper—
"I dreamed of you for so long.
And now, I'm finally here."
