My Cat Poem by DILIPBHASKER MATHRA

My Cat

Today my cat is in a restless mood
It has a difficult task to carry out
Ergo it mews or purs without any pause
Looking eagerly around to pursuit
In a hasty speed and high spirit
To catch a rat espied far off.

I must have a watch on him
If he might jump over the open well
So curious my cat to catch the back limb
Of the scared rat, who longs for an escape
From the loopy mouth and claws,
But how long I shall defend him
From jumping over the open well?

If it falls in the well Oh! God
What would be the fate of my Cat?
And if it goes down into the depth and dies
How shall I evade from the sin
Which breaks my heart for ever and for ever?
