My Cross Poem by Corey Culler

My Cross

I'm giving up on this hell-bound life,
the burdens I bear, are breaking me,
suffocated, I'm lost in this strife,
I'm bearing this cross, thorns piercing my thoughts

She is the one with head held high,
I've buried my past, and I've moved on (can't let go) ,
strung out on my cross, my time drawing nigh, (I needed you) ,
I'm slowly dying (slowly trying) ,
I can't give up, I'm possessed by you (to make things right)

Dirty little secrets, filthy wretched lies,
my wall is crashing down,
I can't quite stop the tumble,
and on I stumble

She is the one with head held high,
I've buried my past, and I've moved on (can't let go) ,
strung out on my cross, my time drawing nigh, (I needed you) ,
I'm slowly dying (slowly trying) ,
I can't give up, I'm possessed by you (to make things right)

My entire world has come undone,
I need a way to live (without you) ,
I want to make it through my day,
please don't deny this,
I can't forget this,
I swear (I swear)

I'm getting buried in this mess,
my mind is in distress,
and your eyes see right through,
I was never untrue,
I needed you
