My Darling Jeannette - Poem by Leo Thomas Proctor

Lord, There's Jeannette! What an exultation in my heart,
When you like a heat wave, shimmering, come into sight
You fill my every being with love that is never to part
It gives me peace from the knowledge that all the world is right
Oh. how wonderful you are an answer to my prayer, which imparts
A blessing to reign throughout my life, not just one night
For we will spend eternity in each other's mind and heart.

Oh, Darling wife, thank you, for the special times of sharing
For the memories intimate minutes the deeds of each day
Which express the special times of tender love, of your caring
Oh. what an answer to prayer you are, God's gift to me, the way
Of a Lady Fair, so gracious, beautiful, and oh, to me so desiring
I need to express my love, the comfort your presence does sway
Me to be more thankful to the Lord, of my thoughts that you bring.
