My Distant Star Poem by Mercy Mg

My Distant Star

In this voyage to nowhere, I discover
There is a star that twinkle like an undercover
Its glittering light is hard to ponder
A shallow me spent a lifetime to uncover

I hated a star flickering in my way
My heartbeat throve abnormally
Anxiousness made me unhappy
It made me live in a fantasy

I despised it shimmering in the distance
It shone on me but then made a disappearance
it only lightened me from afar
It disguised to a conceited great star.

In my solitary I refused to see
Starry nights disgusted me
Then, heaven turned gray
and I felt empty
Living in hatred made me
live astray.

To God, I endlessly pray
to cease my melancholy
In life full of negativity
I must see His glory.

Then, He changed my mind
This distant star did not commit a crime
Its brilliant light was never unkind
Its gleaming light was God's divine!

My dear distant star that once shone my way
Thank you for making me find my destiny
You possessed exceptional beauty
I'm blissful enough to see you shine brightly

Now, looking up at you at distance
Is like an aid to my unraveling circumstance
You enlighten my vision for a great chance
I will never forget the way you glance

Nevertheless, it is a righteous destiny
For you to stay a distance away
It is your God's given liability
To follow His eternal plea

In my lifetime, I will endlessly pray
I wish you shine bright infinitely
Your fervent light that glows my way
Leads my journey to eternity.
