I've had enough.
I've had it of being sickly sweet to him
There are no more pleases left in me
There are no more fake glorifying words to boost his ego
His power once dominated me
Throwing me left and right, ruining everything I've got
But no longer will I stand here and let his fire burn me
For he has taken advantage of my caring loving heart
He has shaped in into steel
And now tries to pound on it, not understanding how solid it has become
I was once naïve and weak
But he has made my character stronger with each slap
He's taught me independence and given me awareness
But, I do not thank him for that
I will never thank him for anything
I've troubled myself with him for years
Only to realize his love isn't something I can earn
And no matter how many days, months, years I spend confined in his prison
I will not receive what I deserve
But, there isn't going to be frantic running attempts from me
I will not give him the satisfaction of knowing he's effected me
I will stand and I will make him regret all his foul actions
I am not a simple unknowing victim anymore
I have power and something that fuels my fight against him
Something he does not possess
It's the wasted years
The scars
The hopelessness
The fear
It's lead to my expected eruption
So when he comes home there won't be cookies and milk
There'll be something that gives me the pleasure of seeing fear in his eyes
