My Fate's Thread Poem by nim dane

My Fate's Thread

I often wonder about my thread in the fate’s loom
Sometimes its dull and overlooked and sometimes it blooms.
Its colour has always been transient,
But I have never been sure what this has meant.
I often feel like I am a dull but soothing beige,
Supportive and obliging, but merged with the back,
But other times I am at centre stage,
My colour standing out in the pack!
I’ve never noticed before but it is so easy
For my thread to change from golden to dusty yellow,
In my own life’s tapestry,
And the reason for this transformation I never know.
I guess its just one of the world’s ways...
We have to do what the mighty lord says.
For our thread is not just a part of our embroidery,
It has been woven into a bigger tapestry.
Its tangled with other threads,
we haven’t even discovered yet,
it paints just a small picture in a painting that is widespread,
and so its path we cannot set..
we may direct it as we may like,
but different goals it is bound to strike,
for we may obstruct the path of those other threads
by different people that are being lead
thus we often end up at an unfamiliar junction
and realize how inconsequential is our direction!
