My Father's Ashes Poem by Marc Kaiser

My Father's Ashes

Dad when you were in hospital
You would always ask when you could come home
But you couldn't
You were far too ill
Now at last we have brought you home again
To the home you and Mum made
And where my brother and sister and I were raised
When the rain falls on this garden
May it's waters nourish and refresh you
And when the sun shines
May you bask in it's warmth and find comfort in it's shade
And when the wind blows
May your spirit be as free as it is.
Good bye Dad
