My Favorite View Poem by mary raybon

My Favorite View

Looking up at the country sky
On a beautiful summers night
The moon and stars shine so bright
The clouds glide across the sky with ease
And I can feel that summers breeze
The wide open spaces
Holds me with a calming embrace
I hear the trees, as they sway in the wind
Then the crickets begin to sing me a song
And I love it when I'm all alone
My mind is free
All that beauty captures me
Everything makes since for a moment
But reality rains in and my trance is broken
And I stand there hopin
The next time is the same
As all the other times
Now I put a end to this rhyme
It's just about that time
For me to go
And wait for the show
