My Fingers Turned To Birds Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

My Fingers Turned To Birds

a fleeting thought of holding hands with you
my fingers suddenly turned to birds
that flew away, far away until I could cry
I feel the need to fulfill and embrace
the happening of a thousand deaths
that will slowly diminish the soul in me
until I finally get to grasp your warmth
that I will claim for my own, as my own
