My First Love Poem by David Olughu

My First Love

My first love
The son of man
God's divine plan
Supreme over all things
King of all Kings

My first love
God's own
Heir to God's throne
Sitting at God's right hand
In Him, I stand

My first love
The name above every other name
The unquenchable flame
He is the fire
that I admire

My first love
Pure and holy
The manifestation of God's glory
His face, men cannot behold
In Him I am made bold

My first love
He is Yahweh
He is the only way
Him alone I will follow
For He is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow

My first love
He will never fail
He is not a train that can derail
Always listening to my prayers
Granting me all my heart desires

My first love
In Him, I have dominion
The result of His passion
In Him, I'm reborn
A new creature, free from scorn.

My first love
The truth and the life
I shall not succumb to fear or strife
In Him, I'm an ambassador
He has the key to every door

My first love
My source of insight
The voice behind all I write
His gift, His Spirit
My divine first aid kit

My first love
I cannot hunger, for He is my cake
I cannot thirst, for He is my lake
He is the cake, I'm the icing
Through Him, I have a meaning

My first love
His love is endless
His grace is boundless
I shall dwell in his bosom
And men shall see His light in me blossom

My first love
A jealous lover
What is His shouldn't be given to any Cesar
The Alpha and the Omega
The scattered and the rebuilder

My first love
He loves me dearly
Comforting and guiding me daily
Loving me beyond measure
In His eyes, I am a divine treasure

My first love
Yearning for deeper relationships
Calling out for more fellowships
His arms, always wide open
To accept any prodigal son that is broken

My first love
My only love
