My Friend, My Courage Poem by neha raj singh

My Friend, My Courage

Driving down the countryside, in a second hand car,
Just me and my curiosity for company.
Stopping in small towns where nature and old
whithering history is there only attraction.
No time constraints and no worries of the real world.
I wish to see the beauty with my heart,
i send you postcards to live each day through my eyes.
I want you to see the little child i see think of me in awe,
the old woman tell me old tales of hundred s of years gone by,
the man with the wild edge take me fleetingly to the clouds,
the middle aged woman look at me with distate.
I want you to see what i see,
for you are my friend.
Tell me not of the harsh reality of life.
Just let me dream for it is in such thoughts that lay
the strength of my being.
The wind is blowing and my thoughts still dwell in the far corner of my dream.
I still sit alone in the dark waiting to face the morning yet to come.
I am yet to come in terms with the recent failures of my physical existence,
not believing that things will be better.
But yet it is your strength that pushes me forward.
I wish for you to be my pillar of support
and i want to be your strength.
For you are just not my friend
but my courage.
