My Generation Will Soon Be Gone
My generation will soon be gone
All my friends
A whole world
And what we have done
And what we have thought
And what we have lived-
A small part
Of the whole human story-
Some will be remembered
For a time
But mostly we will soon be
As if we never were
Worlds inside us
And worlds outside-
And one small part of the story
Not the first generation
And not the last.
