'My Good' Poem by sarah baron

'My Good'

i don't know what to do
when i sit there at night
trying to figure it all out.
sitting there in my crimson tears
while 'good' continues to happen.

'good' to me,
is not the same to you.

as you see it,
'good' is happiness.

happiness that comes from
being with family and friends
spending time with them
laughing, loving and living
sharing your feelings with each other
crying because someone cares
your happiness comes from
just having something,
to look forward to
to have and to hold
to charish and love.

that is how you look at 'good'.
not me.

i see 'good'
as my own personal joy.

joy that comes from
being alone, me and my knife
plugging my ears
so i can't hear what you're saying
closing my eyes
so i can't see what you're thinking
spending time cutting to myself
sharing feelings with myself
and with that person in the mirror.
who is she?
she is me.

me and 'my good'.
