My Heart; The Mirror Poem by Dan Brown

My Heart; The Mirror

My heart; the mirror.
It reflects the love you radiate towards me,
so that I may love you too.
It becomes filled entirely
with your love and pride,
and warms the whole of me through.
But when all it sees is a person, broken,
and can’t understand what it means.
Then it, too, must fall to the floor
and smash into smithereens.
