My Journey's Prayer. Poem by John kago

My Journey's Prayer.

may this road I walk never be too steep,
may it never descend into the rugged crevice of insignificance,
may expectation's light never be too bright to blind,
nor too dim that I lose sight.
may existence's load never be too heavy,
may faith's moon illuminate thy darkest hours.

may thy dreams torch burn ever bright.
may the old signpost of experience,
duly approve that i travel the right path.
may hope never diminish.
may devotion never falter.
may regret never once wake.

may thy heart's map always be true,
may doubts eyes never once glance back,
may positivity's cool breeze refresh my sweat filled brow.
may the clouds of despair never gather,
may distraction's gates never be too welcoming,
may belief's pure fountain replenish me so.

and even if I fall,
may the hands of fate always help me up.
so that I may reach thy lofty gates of pearl,
so that I, oh weary traveller may enter
at last I made it.
at last I am home.
