My Kryptonite - Poem by maggie signaigo

My heart is sealed
Tight...secure
Safe from hurt
Closed for business
Do not enter
Do not pass 'go'
Do not collect that
feeling you get
when you touch someone
Can't touch this...
I won't let you
or him...or anyone

It's not you...
It's really not me
It's them...
Those before you
The careless...
who loved me
touched me...
scarred me
inpenetrable scar tissue
intangible walls
My kryptonite is love
and yet I smile...
