My Last Day Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

My Last Day

Will my last day
Start as any other
Will I get to kiss my wife goodbye
My friend, my lover
Will I give any thought
to if its fair
As I take my last breath
Will I wonder if anyone cares
So many things
Go through my mind
I worry about the loved ones
I'm leaving behind
Will I go out angry
Mad at the world
Or smile contented
As the angels swirl
Maybe safe asleep
At home in my bed
No matter how
I'll certainly be dead
I wonder
