My Last Relationship Poem by Gamaliel Scipio

My Last Relationship

I had this feeling
everything I was
seeing, and hearing
was just a lie

Even so, what was I
supposed to do
walk away without
being sure

Who does this
sort of thing
so easily anyway

Adam didn't walk
I think he also saw
that which I also
was seeing

What if it was just
my imagination
Running away with me

A premature speculation
Something in my past
Some selfish analysis
Not a properly
diagnosed conclusion

What if I am wrong
I would not let me
hear the end of it

Just as the lottery
ticket I wanted
to play
Numbers in hand
but with my last dollar
I decided to walk away

What do you think happened
when I looked at the
results the following day?

It is great to follow
your mind
However, just like
with everything else

It takes practice
sometimes even
a little ESP
That is knowing exactly
when its your time
So as not to have

any regrets
either way
open those eyes
know what you see

Following one’s mind
does not make
everything you touch
turn into gold

Sometimes, and just
like it was
in my last relationship
my mind was correct
It was a hand
I should have fold.
