My Life..? - Poem by Sylvi Hart

My life is spiraling into a dark abyss
The anger bubbling inside me, can you hear it hiss?
Fury shoots through me, like only it could
Wondering what's wrong? I guess you should.
I've endured enough lies to last me a lifetime
You traded my love for less than a dime
I sold my heart, I sold my soul
All to be left shivering, crying in a lone hole
I've said hateful things to people I love
In return I've been pushed away, shoved
I feel I no longer have any control over my life
My well being has been slashed to pieces with a moral knife
But in a way, I guess it's okay
Thinking these things in a meaningful way
With nobody else but me here
I no longer have rejection to fear
This thought, I think it's pure bliss
Leaving the life I surely won't miss?

Hello Sylvia, this is the first read of your work, which your forum post alerted me to. I think it is a good piece of poetry for a girl of your age, exploring all the insecurities that go with being a teenager and becoming a woman....we all feel lost like this at some time or another, often in youth, as it is then that we start to see the world as it is, in the cold light of adulthood isn't fair in lots of ways but can also take a turn upwards quite suddenly...writing out your fear and worries is good and as you progress in your poetry and life, you will hone your own voice and skills as a poet....A good start, ignore the negative critters, because that is all they are! take good advice and always spell check your work. Keep writing.

    Waving at you
