My life starts today –
With a bite from a
Granny Smith apple.
Like juice dribbling down my
Chin, so will the truth
Cascade out of my mouth -
Hidden so long,
To keep from ruining
Other people’s shirts. I swear
An oath that I will be unafraid
Snip out the seeds where they
May do the most harm -
The truth. Nothing but the truth.
So swear I.
Today.

I would like to translate this poem
Today and tomorrow. Maybe forever. American woman's pride is true.
