My Lighthouse Poem by Kevin Patrick

My Lighthouse

Rating: 5.0

you are there
when the rocks and cliffs
are leering
and the vicious night
is taunting
as the frenzied waves
are laughing
for my final wake

still you've been there
to save me
and to guide me
whenever the danger
is lurking
and my course
has lost direction
inside the jagged tides

I could have crashed
a thousand times
had it not been
for your light

for you are my lighthouse
mother
and the light that shines
inside my soul

What a beautiful tribute to a great mother. It expresses in brilliant detail her amazing attributes. This poem resonates with me. Very touching.
