My Little Blonde Sage Poem by Clare McWilliams

My Little Blonde Sage

Erin, you are now eleven years of age.
The light of my life, my little blond sage.
My reason for living- my beautiful creation,
Its for you a write this little novation.

Whenever I'm blue- I just look at you,
And see that the world has a colourful hue.
I enjoy watching you grow,
And getting to know-
What it is that you see,
And your reason to be.

I know I'm not the only one,
You touch the lives of everyone.
All who've helped to nuture you,
We really are a lucky few.
I'm not the most conventional of mothers,
But it wouldn't be me if I was like the others.

We have an interesting journey ahead, my child.
Sometimes calm and sometimes wild.
Compromise, communication and love,
Is the only way to travel above
The quagmire that life can become,
When two people, by misunderstanding, are struck dumb.

Let's see how we fare,
And try to be aware,
We are both only human
So we can't be assumin'
That the other can guess
The others' distress.

I don't want to worry you now,
Cos Mummy will not allow
The world to get you down
As much as I can- I'll get rid of any frown.
And put a big smile on your face,
By being an absolute mental case!
Always remember that I love you,
My special, gorgeous, Missy Moo!
