My Lord Is My Shepherd Poem by KAMANZI THIERRY Bendepoetry

My Lord Is My Shepherd

My Lord Jesus is my shepherd; I shall never want.
He has given a covenant to my generation
That we will live in His wings and conquer the world.
No matter the trials and tribulations we face,
He delivers us from evil to life.
From the rise of the sun to the setting of the moon,
We survive in His protection; everything we have is by His grace.

The world was made for man to embrace and protect.
The Man was created to praise and worship God, the Creator,
To enjoy the love of God and consume the blessings He offers.
He was given one simple assignment:
To never commit a sin
The sin was to eat what God had denied him to test, for his benefit.

I think it was too easy to accomplish,
But because of his pride and ingratitude,
He tested what he had been denied, and the sin took root.
He was to live only in good, without knowing the bad,
But he chose to exercise a choice that God didn't want him to make,
For God knew he was not ready to choose between
Good and evil. Thus, he denied the gift, he faced the consequence of disobedience,
And the consequence was death.

This choice caused the man to fight against himself,
To wish to be as God or above Him—
A desire to satisfy his insatiable lust,
To kill one another, to commit adultery, to steal, and more.
In sin is where my mother gave me birth,
And I have grown to be a sinner, just as my ancestors were.

The reward for sin is death; no day passes without my sin.
I am meant to be hanged and die,
But my Lord has denied my death because He loves me so much.
As He loved humanity, He gave His only begotten Son
So that whoever believes in Him shall never perish
But shall receive eternal life.
That is His covenant.

One day the covenant came to pass;
He came down in a human body, leaving His crown and throne above.
He traded His power and pride for my survival,
Yet I did not know who He was and denied Him.
Many days passed hearing His teachings, but it was I who condemned Him.
He showed mercy in return,
One day He revealed Himself to me and conquered me.
Daily He cares for and protects me while I fight against evil within.

Even though until the end of the world I will be called a sinner,
I have food and shelter; I have a home to live in—I have life.
I will keep fighting the evil spirits. With Jesus Christ, I will win the battle.
My Lord is my shepherd; I shall never want.
