My Love Poem by Vishal Kadrekar

My Love

I start my day thinking about you,
As I walk through the crowd and pick you up from the shop,
And clutch you tight in my hands,
You know I can’t live without you.

You are my prized possession,
You relieve me when I am tension,
Helping me answer all my questions,
My love you are my bitter addiction.

When I hold you between my lips,
And feel you in my lungs,
I feel better.

A famed lady, you are on posters and television,
You relive a million people when they are in tension,
A million people thrive on your magical potion,
My love you are their bitter addiction.

When they hold you between their lips,
And feel you in their lungs,
They feel better.

Even food won’t insatiate your hunger,
Even water won’t quench your thirst,
An obscene addiction,
This has lead me on the path of self destruction.

I want to leave you, but I can’t,
Because, I love you, more than I love myself.
