My Love Died Today Poem by Luke Turamarama

My Love Died Today

My Love died today.
Their pain released with their last breath.
Their hand fell away.
Grasped by death.

As they rise to the clouds.
Soaring with their wings.
I ask for one last one moment.
One last thing.

Once they get to heaven.
Let their feathers fall.
Give me something to hold on too.
My love, my all.

I'll collect each feather.
Gently in a duvet they'll be placed.
Shielding me from loss.
Safe and warm in their embrace.
