My Love For San Diego Poem by Natasa To

My Love For San Diego

Sunlight spills like honey on the bay,
and I remember why I never stay away.
San Diego, you breathe in salt and gold,
a quiet warmth that never grows old.

Your mornings rise on a painted sea,
soft gull songs drifting easily,
while palm trees sketch the sky in green—
a thousand shades of in-between.

I've walked your shores at dusk's slow fall,
barefoot where the cool waves call,
each tide a whisper, each breeze a vow
that life is fuller here and now.

The city hums but never shouts,
it knows what peace is all about—
in hidden coves and open air,
there's always time, there's always care.

And oh, the sunsets—burning bright,
as if the day resists the night,
spilling colors wild and free
across your endless memory.

San Diego, you don't demand,
you simply open up your hand—
and somehow, somewhere in your glow,
you've taught my restless heart to slow.
