My Love With No Name Poem by Geoff Anton

My Love With No Name

Rest ashore I am washed up
Face down in sand upon the shore
My life now poured within a cup
Not knowing of the night before

My love for her was a crimson ballet
My voice is lost and gone astray
She was the one that got away
I'll find her soul in heaven someday

Those river blue eyes and catlike stares
Those rosy cheeks that were so fair
Her soul was boundless as sunlight
But on that night she stared in fright

Those guilty pleasures that I'm told
Those men and demons uncontrolled
She screamed and pleaded for her life
But never was to be my wife…
